Mike Augello: Leafs shutout Sabres, position battles heat up

Good game for the Leafs. Great to see McElhinney have a good bounce back game. Ohh yay and like the Leafs ... #1

Leafs were all over the sabres but I'm pretty sure they only had one regular in the line up. Borgman and dermott both looked good. Good to see the Matthews nylander line clicking. Rielly and Gardiner have looked a step above the rest of the the leafs d so far.

Not trolling but sounds like they're penalising any slight infringement in the faceoffs, but a player can basically make contact with the opposing players head with his shoulder & it ok? Again not trolling just observing & it wouldn't matter who the player was.

Seriously though, I was watching Matthews last night and almost got giddy. He is good at so many things. He is a magician at stripping the puck away from people. Why does he need Hyman to dig the puck out of the corners? He can do it himself! And the way he stick handles, the puck clings to his stick. I don't know if I have seen another player who can have it so close to the stick and 'stick' like a magnet like that!

He hit him square in the chest. The league has said that if you hit a guy bobby on body, and also contact the head it's an unfortunate part of thr game. They've said you cannot hit a guy only in the head, and there is no chance in hell you can argue that Bergman only hit him in the head.
